1948 Oldsmobile

These are photos that I took since the purchase of the vehicle in October of 1990 and it's restoration process.

The photos on the following pages will show the vehicle's journey from a diamond in the rough to a jewel. The photographs of the restoration process may be a bit grainy due to instant Polaroid photos. It takes time to scan photos, so I would like to apologize that more photos are not posted. As the photos are scanned and I can show how the restoration process progressed, more page numbers will be added. If anyone has questions about any part of the process, please ask me, I can possibly assist since everything you see I was able to accomplish myself.

In July of 1990, this Oldsmobile was found to be for sale at the Genesee Valley RIT car show by a man named Jack Valvo. I was 16 and didn't have the money to purchase the vehicle at that time. After working all summer, I called Jack on the phone to see that he still had the vehicle for sale. He delivered the vehicle to me on October 10, 1990 in the condition as you see it here.

This is the same vehicle on October 2, 2004 used in my wedding to my wonderful wife Heather. The wedding procession included, this Oldsmobile, three 1931 Model A Ford sedans, and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air 4 door sedan. The car was also another gem at the 100 year anniversary of Oldsmobile in Lansing, MI! The production totaled 15,842 with a shipping weight of 3,508 pounds.
